If you’ve followed our journey even a little, you probably know that Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree program has a special place in our hearts. If you haven’t heard that part of our story, we’d love to share it with you.
Recently, we learned that 449 children registered for Angel Tree were still waiting to be matched with a church. And that’s just here in Ocala!
Behind each registration is an incarcerated parent hoping someone will help provide a Christmas gift for their child on their behalf. Through Angel Tree, churches help deliver those gifts along with a personal message from the parent. It’s a simple, tangible way to remind a child that they are loved and remembered.
For the caregivers raising these children, Christmas can bring added pressure to an already challenging season. Many are doing everything they can to keep life steady, and gifts may be beyond what their budget allows. A church’s involvement can offer encouragement and connection that reach beyond Christmas morning.
That’s why we want to help churches get involved.
The 449 children here in Ocala represent a local need, but this invitation reaches wherever you call home. Your church may have an opportunity to serve families in your own community through Angel Tree.
If your church is interested in participating this Christmas, now is a good time to explore what that could look like. Send us a message and we’ll help you connect with Prison Fellowship to learn about opportunities in your area.
Let’s work together to make sure these children are remembered this Christmas.
